Fees |

Adoption fees are assigned to each horse based on their capabilities and help defer the costs incurred by their rescue and rehabilitation.
Companion animals range from $0 - $300.
Rideable horses range from $400 - $1200.
Why do I have to pay an adoption fee?
HorseNet Horse Rescue depends on you, the public and our own money to maintain the animals we have in our care. We ask for an adoption fee to help cover the expenses of running the rescue. 100% of the money obtained through adoptions and donations goes back into the rescue. We do not have paid employees. We operate through volunteers and donation. Adoption fees and donations aid in the care of many other needy horses. It helps to keep HorseNet running and continue in our mission.
Does paying an adoption fee mean I own the horse?
No, this is not a sale but an adoption. We hold co-ownership of the animals adopted to make sure they are never sold, bred or sent to auction. Most people do not realize the tremendous financial commitment it takes to properly own and care for a horse. We try to educate them so they can see how little the adoption fees is in relation to the usual cost of purchasing a horse.
How are adoption fees assessed to each animal?
Fees vary depending on the ability and age of the animal. We keep our fees reasonable to encourage people to adopt animals from us. We are NOT out to make a profit, but to educate people and rescue animals in need. |
