ANGEL (formerly
Leale) (Arabber)
Angel is in her early teens,15.hh Arabian cross mare. She is very
fat. She apparently has been trained but just needs to get back into
it. She will shy from the mounting block, but if you get a leg up
or mount from the ground she is fine. She was an Arabber horse in
Baltimore city - pulling vegetable carts. She is out in a field right
now, but doesn't have a halter on; she can be hard to catch. She is
totally healthy. She would be fine for driving and trail riding. Her
feet are not bad - the farrier just noticed that she had a touch of
road founder when she first came in. She has been trimmed several
times since then and he feels that she will be fine She is also barefoot
and has good feet. She has some trust issues, but is well trained
once under saddle - just needs brush-up. Requires intermediate or
above rider.

ATHENA
2003 14.3hh Appaloosa mare. She came to HorseNet form the HSUS in October 2010. She was one of the 49 horses they rescued form a neglect case in WV in May. She was malnourished, suffering from overgrown hooves and a parasite infection. These horses had no access to water or food, they were forced to painfully lean across a barbed wire fence to reach for the scarce remaining grass. Athena was very frightened when she came to us, she continues to make progress daily but is still fearful. She would be perfect for an experienced horse owner, that could take the time to train her. She will make a great riding horse or companion horse; a great addition to anyones family. Her training is unknown; we will continue to work with her and post updates as available.

BAILEY
2001 Thoroughbred gelding. Bailey is being ridden consistently and has surprised us with his trot poles and small jumps. He is a very handsome boy and loves people. He has had a tendency to be a bit pushy on the ground; however with the work that he's been doing his ground manners have improved greatly. He is at times fussy for the farrier and being tacked. He does aim to please when it is time to work and rides well with other horses in the field. He is suitable for a knowledgeable and experienced handler, but with some work would be suitable for an intermediate rider.

BLAZE
2005 13h Pony Mare. Blaze is an interesting pony, she can be very sweet one day and very naughty the next. She requires training both on the ground and under saddle. She is a smart pony, but can be difficult to handle. She is currently working on ground manners, and is improving daily. Blaze was born while at HNHR, her mother Blossom was rescued from a WV neglect case in 2005. Her mother was so underweight and feral upon arrival, we were unaware that she was in foal until months later...and then there was Blaze. She is willing to learn and will make a great challenging project for the right person. Blaze requires an experienced horse handler and trainer. EMAIL HORSENET ABOUT THIS HORSE

2000 14.2hh cream/white stock mare. Former member of a basically
wild herd; She is not used to being handled by people and has major
trust issues. She needs an experienced horse person that can work

though with the right training.

CECE
2001 15hh bay TB mare. Ce Ce would be suitable for a very experienced
rider only. She has great field manners, but is pushy on the lead
and has no concept of personal space. She seems very willing, but
knows nothing, Ce Ce would do best with a strong trainer, with a lot
of positive rewards. She is pigeoned toed in the front, but that doesn't
stop her! The pretty girl would be a great project for the right person.

CIMMERON
1996 16hh chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. He would do well in a turn
out with appropriate shelter situation - he was kept in a Quarter
horse show barn where they kept him inside 90% of the time and he
only got outside 15 minutes or so a day. He is a sweet boy that will
do well with someone that understands him. He would be fine for an
intermediate rider. EMAIL HORSENET ABOUT THIS HORSE *IN NEED OF A

COCOA (Arabber)
2004 mare that came to HNHR in 2007 along with the herd of 12 Arabber horses. She shows signs of being gaited, and was ridden several times over the summer. She has wonderful ground manners and loves to be groomed and tacked up. Since she was a cart horse, she really does not know what to do under saddle, but that doesn't stop her from trying. She will walk and trot responding to voice commands and a shake of the reigns. She offered to buck when asked for a canter, only because she did not understand, but with the proper training she could be a wonderful horse for trails or easy Western pleasure rides. She will require an intermediate or above owner.

1994 16h TB Gelding. This handsome fella certainly doesn't act his age! Flag is a quirky, jittery boy who needs direction while riding. He would make a fun riding buddy or dressage prospect, flat work would be best for him. We have not yet evaluated him on the trails but hope to soon. Flag came to HNHR in 2004 and is tattooed. He has a fun trot, but needs work on his canter, he is very forward. Might make a great eventer or fox hunter. He is very smart & and very powerful. as an adult's pony (small female with quick thinking riding style
would be ideal). She can be pushy and has poor ground manners so we
will need someone willing to instill some manners. Being returned

JAKE
Mid-teens 16+hand Belgian Gelding. Jake is a big Belgian with puppy dog traits. He gets excited and playful at times, and with his size it can be difficult to handle him, but he has never been malicious. He is bored with ring work and likes to be challenged, whether it is learning new commands or going out on the trail with a buddy. He needs more work heading out on the trail by himself. He stands on cross ties like a champ and will stay sane for hours of pony rides :) Very fun mover, was just started under saddle this past year and still needs finishing. He is a very good boy who if you can build rapport with will be man's new best friend!

Chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. Has not been ridden since the end of 2009, so would need to be started back slowly. May be suitable as a trail horse but has mostly been ridden in the ring. He is a super friendly horse, loves being handled, is fine for the Farrier and vet and is ‘laid back’. Believed to be an easy loader. He does crib but has no other vices.
