HorseNet Horse Rescue is
a certified 501 (c)(3) nonprofit horse
rescue and rehabilitation facility with two locations in Maryland.
We DO NOT sell horses, but facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation and
rehoming of those animals in our care. We do have some long term care residents,
but strive to adopt out as many animals as possible to loving informed
homes. We are 100% volunteer run and operate solely on donations.
We specialize in the care of seniors and blind horses, but will accept
animals, when space allows, surrendered by private owners or through
state animal control facilities in any condition from any location.

New Windsor Farm Closing April 2014
Mt. Airy, MD – February 03, 2014 – Maryland horses in need are losing one of their safety nets. HorseNet Horse Rescue announced today their New Windsor, Maryland location is closing.
“It’s sad and exciting news at the same time”, said Melanie Biemiller, HorseNet’s Assistant Executive Director. Unfortunately, we will lose some of our dedicated volunteers unable to travel to our Mt. Airy farm, but operating at a single location will cut costs and leverage existing resources.
Sadly, the struggling economy and a severe decline in donations is the cause for the closure. For several years, we have successfully maintained two farms (New Windsor and Mt Airy) to support the over 80 horses calling HorseNet home, but the financial burden has become too great.
This closure will not affect the care we provide the horses; we are committed to them and their well-being; we hope to transition the New Windsor horses directly into new homes or foster care to reduce the stress on them and to avoid overburdening our Mt Airy farm.
The owner of the New Windsor farm has generously given us until May 1, 2014 to vacate the premises. We hope the horse community will open their stalls and their fields and give our New Windsor horses a place to call home.
HorseNet would like to thank the owner of the New Windsor farm who has been very understanding and supportive of HorseNet and its horses.
This time of year is very hard on our horses so we can use all the support we can get to get each and every one through the winter. Please consider making a monetary donation, 100% of which is used for their care or a donation of good quality hay and blankets (of all sizes) is welcome. Thank you so much for your support

MONTHLY PLEDGE CAMPAIGN
OUR HORSES NEED YOUR HELP!!! HorseNet cares for 70+ horses at any given time, and to care for our special herds we rent two properties. Our "land lords" have been incredibly understanding of our situation, and we greatly appreciate them working with us; however donations are down significantly and making ends meet is getting increasingly difficult.
The economy has affected us all and HorseNet is no exception. This decrease in donations leaves us struggling to pay our expenses, and we need your help to ensure our rescued horses have the security of these farms while they wait patiently for their life long loving home.
Our goal is to raise $3,000 per month to cover rent expenses, and if just 150 amazing supporters donate just $20/month we can reach that goal.
OUR HORSES NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE JOIN US FOR THIS CAMPAIGN, TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
