HorseNet Horse Rescue is a certified 501 (c)(3) nonprofit horse rescue and rehabilitation facility with two locations in Maryland. We DO NOT sell horses, but facilitate the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of those animals in our care. We do have some permanent residents, but strive to adopt out as many animals as possible to loving informed homes. We are 100% volunteer run and operate solely on donations. We specialize in the care of seniors and blind horses, but will accept animals, when space allows, surrendered by private owners or through state animal control facilities in any condition from any location.

ADOPTION AREA: Maryland residents or those that reside within 4 hours our Mt Airy Farm. No exceptions made to this policy. To determine adoption eligiblity CLICK HERE then click on Directions, enter your address then click on Get Directions, this will give you the amount of time it takes to get to the rescue.

Horse Surrenders/Returns: We are not taking in any owner surrenders at this time. If you have a HorseNet horse that you need to return, please contact us.

Funding Drive!

It’s been an eventful year for HorseNet! We have helped many horses including the Garret 8, 3 Arabber horses from Baltimore City, blind horses seeking refuge, and those already in our care; in addition, we have held some amazing events including our annual PowWow and Mini Walk. None of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers and our fantastic supporters. We greatly thank you for all that you do for the horses!

Due to all the strains that have been put on us and the increase in our yearly expenses, we would truly appreciate any help you could give us at this time to make sure we continue to keep our programs as strong as possible. This is especially relevant as we prepare for another approaching winter, which hopefully will be easier than last year, but we want to be prepared just in case.

Sniffer Dog Sport - Introductory Workshop

Sponsor a Horse - All of our horses are eligible for sponsorship. Sponsors help offset the cost to care for the horses while they wait for their permanent homes. All donations are tax deductible. You can for as little as $12.50 a month! Click HERE for more information.

Foster a Horse - All our non-rideable / companion horses are available for foster care. The foster takes the horse into their care and a location of their choice and essentially treats the horse as their own while being able to take a tax deduction on its expenses. Click HERE for more information.

Items Needed

Hay: HorseNet Horse Rescue cares for over 100 horses - 11 of those horses are blind - so we are always in need of hay to keep our herds feed. We would gladly accept good quality hay from last year and come and pick it up, but direct donations are also welcome and delivered hay is a plus - there just aren't enough hours in the day to pick up hay sp everything helps. Pledge Campaign

SIGN UP FOR OUR PLEDGE FOR $10 CAMPAIGN
In 2008 we started our Pledge for $10 Campaign with 40 supporters and were able to cover the rent for just one of our properties. Unfortunately 2009 was not a good year for this campaign, as of today we have dropped down to 25 supporters. Our goal for this year is to increase that number quite a but, but we can not do it with out your help!! In fact I would like to see us hit 100 Supporters!

The original plan is to have 400 people donate $10 a month to cover our monthly rent expenses. Since real estate prices are so high, most horse rescues are not able to buy their own property so finding a farm to lease is a crucial part of caring for our rescued horses and the horses that need us. Since HorseNet cares for so many horses we rent multiple properties. Our "land lords" have been amazing with us the past couple years with their understanding of the economic state; however in 2010 the rescue NEEDS to be able to cover our monthly expenses. Our horses need your help! Together we will make a difference. Join us for this campaign! Together we will make a difference, together we can make 2010 great!!!
